Four Eleven York Inn/Restaurant

Dan and I recently had the pleasure of experiencing a dinner and overnight stay at Four Eleven York -- tucked into the Freemason District of Norfolk, VA. We were able to celebrate both Valentines day and our anniversary with this staycation and it was nothing short of incredible.

Four Eleven York Inn

We checked into the inn at 4pm on Saturday and were quickly shown to our room. Everything was stunning and really surpassed my expectations!

The room had a fireplace, complimentary mini drink/snack bar (with alcohol options for a fee), a rain shower with heated bathroom floors and so many other luxury features. The bed was even from a local company (Paramount Sleep) and it genuinely felt like we were sleeping on a cloud. Side-note -- we're now currently saving up to get this heavenly mattress for our house (yes it was that good).

One of the cool things about this Inn is that every room is different. Because its a boutique experience, you aren't getting cookie-cutter rooms like you'd find in a typical hotel. It really makes the stay feel unique. The building was built in the 1890's so you can definitely feel the classic charm mixed with more modern decor. The downstairs parlors as well as the neighboring restaurant can also be booked for private events!

The Restaurant at Four Eleven York

Now the second time we've had dinner at this restaurant, I can say with all the confidence in the world that this high-end dining experience is a must-do for anyone living in or visiting the area. We've experienced both the covered outdoor patio with fire-pits as well as the cozy interior.

For our Valentines dinner we ordered the four-course specialty option with drink pairing and it was honestly one of the best meals I've ever had. I chose mostly seafood options -- Oyster on half shell starter, grilled octopus, lobster étouffée and a ancho chili brownie for dessert. Dan got the -- winter citrus salad, raviolo, 8 oz Australian Angus filet and hummingbird cake for dessert.

The intimate, low-light interior made for a laid back and relaxing dinner where Dan and I were able to reflect on the last year and talk casually without it feeling overly formal. This upscale yet approachable environment combined with the insanely high caliber of food being brought out, makes for what I'd consider the perfect "splurge date night."We'll definitely be back!

While definitely pricey to do both, I encourage anyone who is able and considering it to splurge for an overnight at this inn alongside their dinner. Combining the two really makes you feel like you're on a fancy vacation even if you're just in the heart of your hometown. A+ for this staycation!
